Don’t blink: the calendar flips to November in just two weeks, and Advent begins on December 3. We know that some of you like to get a jump on planning your Advent and Christmas activities. Free Holiday activity pages are now available for all levels. Don’t worry though: While the editors want to help you keep an eye on what’s next, we still live in the moment—all of Pflaum’s free fall seasonal activities for All Saints’ Day and Thanksgiving remain available throughout the season.
- Seeds Preschoolers can express their gratitude in a Thanksgiving prayer and a Christmas colors page and count down to Christmas with a paper Advent wreath. Seeds pages are available in Spanish and English.
- Promise Kindergarteners and first graders will build a train that will take them on an Advent journey. They can also decorate a tree using ornaments that Jesus would especially like. Promise pages are also available in Spanish and English.
- Good News Second and third graders will enjoy doing the activities on the Christmas countdown calendar, which also notes the major feast days in December. There’s also a holiday crossword that will help them review the Scripture readings of the season.
- Venture An Advent crossword and a Christmas quiz will challenge children in grades 4–6. Use these as pretests to assess what they already know or as a holiday party trivia challenge.
- Visions Middle schoolers can fill in the blanks in the story of John the Baptist, the prophet who heralds Jesus’ coming. Students will also improve their knowledge of the feasts the Church celebrates during Advent and Christmas.
