This week, we mark the halfway point of the 40-day journey from Ash Wednesday to Holy Thursday. Ask the children: How is your Lent going? Then take some time to discuss their Lenten commitments—maybe they gave up an unhealthy habit or committed to acts of service—and whether they are making good progress. Remind the children that the road we walk to Easter may not always follow a straight path, and that’s okay.
The Grade Yourself This Lent activity sheet will help the children look back to Ash Wednesday, assess where they are now, and determine when and where they may have gone off course. After they grade themselves, gather together and talk about how they might try again and get to where they want to be by Easter.
