As we prepare for gatherings with family and friends over the Christmas holiday, reflecting on Mary’s visit to Elizabeth may enhance the time we share with others. Elizabeth’s unborn baby (John the Baptist) “leaped for joy” at the sound of Mary’s greeting. John recognized the presence of our Lord and leaped for joy in his mother’s womb.
LET US PRAY: Good and gracious God, as we celebrate the final days of Advent, we ask you to make the joy of our Christmas celebrations complete. Help us to seek and recognize your presence in each person we meet. Amen.
