This week, the Church celebrates several saints, including Saint Kateri Tekakwitha (July 14), Saint Bonaventure (July 15), Saint Camillus de Lellis (July 18), and Saint Apollinaris (July 20)

These prayers and reflections can help you include these saints in a special way in your daily prayers. Born in the 17th century and canonized in 2012, Saint Kateri is known as a patroness of the environment, and she is the first Native American saint. Bishop and Doctor of the Church, Saint Bonaventure was a friend of both Saint Thomas Aquinas and Saint (King) Louis of France. Not as well-known as other Franciscan saints, Bonaventure wrote many spiritual and theological works, including the Breviloquium, the ending of which may be incorporated into your prayers. Founder of the Ministers of the Sick, along with Saint John of God, Saint Camillus de Lellis is patron of the sick. First-century saint, Saint Apollinaris is said to have been made bishop of Ravenna (Italy) by Saint Peter himself. He is considered to be one of the great leaders of the early Church, a “good shepherd.”
