Tell them to find Jesus in the picture. See if they can find the water jugs. Explain that the Bible tells the story of Jesus and his friends attending a wedding in a town called Cana. Jesus was having fun at the party when his mother told him there was no more wine. Jesus told the waiters to fill six big water jugs with water. Then he told one of the waiters to take a taste to the wine steward. When the wine steward tasted it, he said it was very good wine, and the party went on. Jesus wanted his friends to have a good time, just as he wants us to have a good time today.Set up a party. If possible, gather the children around a large table. Give each one a cup of juice and a small plate with a cookie or two. Before the group begins to eat, pray:Bless us, O Lord (Repeat.)and these thy gifts (Repeat.)which we are about to receive (Repeat.) from thy bounty (Repeat.)through Christ, our Lord. (Repeat.) Amen. (Repeat.)Have the children close the What the Church Believes and Teaches handbooks and return to Seeds, page 2–3.Lesson Wrap-UpVisit gospelweeklies.com/Catechists-Teachers to download Seeds Weekly Review template.Use Activity #21 from the Seeds Activity Book as a take-home activity or lesson wrap-up.YOU areInvitedUnit 1: We Are the Church l TG1-19
