Catholic Identity Project of the Week
This Sunday’s Gospel reminds us of how good Jesus, the Good Shepherd, is to us. He watches over us, takes care of us, and protects us. In the busy-ness of life, it’s easy to forget all God does for us. This week, make a Gratitude List with the children. Have each child brainstorm things she or he is grateful for and add them to the list.
Saints and Feast Days to Celebrate
l April 22: World Day of Prayer for Vocations
l April 25: Saint Mark, Evangelist – Mark was not one of the 12
Apostles and may not have known Jesus personally. He drew on Peter’s witness and the Churches in Jerusalem and Antioch as sources for his Gospel, which is the oldest and shortest of the four. Pray: Lord, help us to share your Good News. Amen.
l April 28: Saint Gianna Beretta Molla – This 20th-century Italian wife, mother, and pediatrician is a champion of unborn children. Early in her 6th pregnancy, doctors discovered a uterine tumor. Gianna allowed them to remove the tumor but insisted her child be protected. Gianna died a week after giving birth to baby Gianna. Pray: Lord, help us make good choices in difficult situations. Amen.
