Extending Activities for Seeds and Promise

Extending Activities for Seeds and Promise

As your class time winds down, you may find yourself with more minutes than activities left in your lesson plan. Maybe the children breezed through an activity more quickly than you anticipated or you’re waiting for a few parents to return for pickup. The Gospel Weeklies editors have assembled a number of Extending Activities specifically for Seeds (Preschool) and Promise (Kindergarten, Grade 1) children. In Unit 1, there are ideas for cooperative play and creative projects, as well as printable coloring pages that accompany the story for many of the lessons. Use them as you have time and need. The story coloring pages are available in both Spanish and English.

Another resource to keep in mind (and on hand) is this compilation of Finger Plays, Prayers, Songs, and Stretching and Movement Activities. Use them as needed to give the children an activity break during a lesson or to tack on at the end of a lesson that’s gone by more quickly than you’d anticipated.
