Mustard seeds are very tiny. In Sunday’s Gospel, we are reminded that God can take any small amount of faith and help it to grow. God wants us to take that first step toward him by loving him, trusting him, and sharing our knowledge of him with others. He can do great things with our faith!

Sometimes we may feel small and insignificant in the face of life’s challenges. Some people feel that their needs are too small for God to be concerned about. God—who has counted every hair on our heads, cares for the sparrow and judges our worth as greater than many sparrows (see Matthew 10:29–31)—cares about each of us as if there were only one of us. No care, no concern, no person, no faith is too small for God’s notice and care. Our God can do amazing things with the little we offer! Our offering—no matter how small—is what God desires from us.
