Lent is a time to recommit to prayer, fasting, and good works. Encourage your families to share the Take Up Your Cross prayer service together at home. The service begins with everyone sharing ideas for having a good Lent. It continues with a reading of Matthew 16:24–25, in which Jesus tells his disciples, “Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” Families will discuss how they can be disciples of Jesus during Lent and beyond.
