Love Is in the Air

Love Is in the Air

Saint Valentine is not officially honored on the Church’s liturgical calendar. Still, this third-century saint is well-celebrated every February 14. Saint Valentine’s Day is rooted in an act of disobedience. Valentine honored the wish of soldiers by marrying them to their sweethearts, though he was ordered not to by the emperor Claudius. For this reason, he is known as the patron of engaged couples and happy marriages. Share these Valentine’s Day activities with your children: for Seeds children, A Valentine Gift from God, and for Promise children, A Valentine for Someone Special. Both activities are available to download and print in Spanish and English.
