Nativity Scene Blessing

Nativity Scene Blessing

143

Many families have rituals and traditions for their home Nativity scene. They may honor the youngest member of the family by having the child place the Infant Jesus in the scene (sometimes waiting until Christmas Eve or first thing on Christmas morning). Or they may encourage selfless acts during Advent by allowing children to place a piece of bedding straw or yellow yarn in the scene for each good deed. As your families set up their scenes during the first week of Advent, share the Blessing the Family Nativity Scene prayer service, which is available in English and Spanish.
