Plan a Pentecost Event

Plan a Pentecost Event

If your parish is able to resume Sunday Mass and other gatherings by Pentecost (May 31), consider celebrating Pentecost with a family event. Feel free to adapt this plan to fit the guidelines for physical distancing and other restrictions in place in your area.

The arrival of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost was such a powerful experience that the Apostles could only express it in terms of the roaring of a mighty wind and the blazing tongues of fire. In many parishes, Pentecost marks one of the last large-scale Church celebrations before families disperse for the summer. Make it a great one! The Gospel for All Ages offers “A Mighty Wind: A Celebration of the Spirit” (English, Spanish) with complete plans to celebrate the birthday of the Church. The downloadable planner includes a timeline, proposed schedule, Gospel reflections and questions, communication tips, and a closing Litany.

NOTE: One of the Late Close Lessons available online is about Pentecost.

Our popular Family Corner feature, which is part of every Gospel Weeklies student lesson as well as The Gospel for All Ages, will be available through the summer months. Find them here.
