Saints and Feasts: Saint Francis of Assisi

Saints and Feasts: Saint Francis of Assisi

Untitled design (84)

The Church celebrates one of the most popular of all saints on October 4—Saint Francis of Assisi. Patron of animals and ecology, Saint Francis is a model of how a flawed person can transform his life. He was born wealthy and privileged, but changed his wasteful ways. He heard—but, at first, misunderstood—God’s call to rebuild his Church.

Work with Good News children to complete Five Scenes from the Life of Saint Francis of Assisi. Preschoolers can match animals and their names on the Saint Francis of Assisi activity sheet, available in English and Spanish. Share this Saint Francis resource page with your families to provide more background about this popular 12th-century saint.
