Luke 3:1–6

In Sunday’s Gospel, John the Baptist urges people to prepare the way of the Lord and to make straight his path. Saint John quotes the prophet Isaiah who also states that the mountains and hills will be made low, the winding roads made straight, and the rough ways smooth. The prophet also says that everyone will see the salvation of God. Saturday, December 8 was is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception—a special holy day to celebrate Mary our Mother. And Wednesday, December 12, is the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe—the patroness of the Americas.

Lucas 3, 1–6
