John 10:1–10

Sunday’s Gospel describes Jesus as a Good Shepherd, who has come so that his followers might have life to the fullest. Shepherds lead, protect, and provide for their sheep. Shepherds know their sheep and the sheep know the shepherd’s voice. In Jesus’ time, shepherds slept at the entrance to the sheepfold like a gate that keeps the sheep in. Jesus is the gateway to the Christian community. Baptism makes us members of that community.

See The Gospel at Home (English and Spanish) for suggested family activities and discussion starters related to this Sunday’s Gospel.
