Matthew 21:33–43

In the Gospel, Jesus uses another parable set in a vineyard that again represents Israel and its people. The landowner plants the vines and hires tenants to work the vineyard for him. At harvest time, they kill the landowner’s servants in order to keep the crops for themselves. They even kill his son when he comes to collect the owner’s share. Jesus wants the leaders in Israel to take good care of the people and not deprive them of what is rightfully theirs. This week is a good opportunity to explore with your family how to be good members of the various groups you belong to—most importantly, your family and the Church.
