May is traditionally a month for honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary. As we continue our celebration of Easter through Pentecost on May 23, we can join Mary in rejoicing that Jesus has been raised from the dead—and what this meant for her and what it means for all of Jesus’ followers.
Note that there are several feasts of Mary in May:
May 13: Our Lady of Fatima
May 24: The Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church
May 31: The Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Find out about some Flowers Named for Mary and encourage children and parents to spend some time outdoors together, locating those flowers that grow in your area.

Pray along with Mary’s yes to God (her fiat) and her song of praise (her Magnificat) in John Burland’s music video to the song, “God Reigns.” May the lyrics “I place my trust in you, O God, in your mercy, in your glory and might” be a special prayer as we continue to deal with the unsettling challenges the pandemic has brought into our lives.
