The major events in the Church Year—the Incarnation, which we celebrate at Christmas, and the Resurrection, which we celebrate at Easter—are so important that they are not celebrated for just one day. Explain to the children that Easter is a fifty-day season, stretching from Easter Sunday until Pentecost, which is often referred to as the birthday of the Church. Ask the children how they will continue to live the commitments they made during Lent. The Fifty Days of Easter calendar gives children a daily good work to accomplish on each day of the Easter season. Each action is an opportunity to make themselves happy and to bring happiness to others.
