We have enhanced our lessons with support materials to help you bring the Good News of the Gospels to your children each week. You will find assessments for each lesson and unit, weekly review templates, timely printables to use in class or send home with your children, links to videos that coordinate with the lesson topics, and more.
At the bottom of this page, select the level you are teaching, and you’ll find a menu of resources created just for you and your students
If you’ve misplaced your guide or need to give one to a substitute, just print a copy.
Online copies of the Teaching Guides are perfect to share with substitute teachers, teaching assistants, or to replace your guide if you happen to misplace it. Click on the level at the bottom of the page to access the Teaching Guides for each unit. They are available in both English and Spanish.
Digital Edition Guide
Covers how to register for the digital Pflaum Gospel Weeklies, what the digital editions give students access to, where to find the lesson guides for parents and teachers, and the return and restriction policies for the digital product.
It’s important to assess student comprehension and gauge the effectiveness of your teaching methods. These assessments (available for grades 2–9) are provided in two formats – PDF to make duplication simple and Word if you wish to personalize them to your needs. Permission is granted to duplicate these ONLY as a supplement to the Pflaum Gospel Weeklies.
Parent Teaching Pages
Parent Teaching Pages are easy-to-use guides that walk parents through teaching each lesson with step-by-step instructions, background information, and discussion starters. You may wish to send home the Parent Teaching Page when a child has been absent from class. Parents who are assisting their children at home will benefit from these simplified versions of the Teaching Guides used by catechists and teachers.
Weekly Gospel Videos and Coloring Pages
Seeds and Promise (and some Good News) catechists and teachers may wish to enhance their class sessions with Miss Heidi’s Gospel Reflection and Saint in the Spotlight video features. Along with each week’s video, Miss Heidi creates a coloring page related to the Sunday Gospel.
Using the Pflaum Gospel Weeklies is the best way to align your catechetical classes to the Church’s Liturgical Year. We also provide these Seasonal Resources to enhance and reinforce your lessons in class or at home.
Program Overview Video will help you learn about the Pflaum Gospel Weeklies program. It covers all the components—walking through highlights of the Teaching Guides and how the Catechism handbooks connect to each lesson. You will learn how the Pflaum Gospel Weeklies have a focus on the connection to family faith as well as the material in the student lessons. You will see many of the online support materials, such as weekly and unit assessments, weekly videos, and other supplemental activities.
See how the unique format of the Pflaum Gospel Weeklies that go home each week encourage parents’ involvement and promote Mass attendance. Our weekly, non-textbook style links the Sunday Gospel with the Catechism, using the What the Church Believes and Teaches handbooks. The Gospel Weeklies also include timely connections to current events. See samples of student lessons and how they work with the Catechism handbooks here.
Resource Manuals include information about how children learn, creating a positive learning environment, praying with children, and much more.

Connections to Theology of the Body
Saint John Paul II’s reflections about the dignity and worth of all human persons as sons and daughters of God have come to be known as the Theology of the Body. Parishes and Catholic schools that require integration of Theology of the Body into their lessons will find these correlations of the Sunday Gospels and Gospel Weeklies lessons to TOB themes helpful.
