Fifty days is a long time in the life of a child. Remember how long the days ticked by waiting for your birthday or a special holiday? Share with the children that we still are Easter people celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus. After Pentecost, which is often referred to as the birthday of the Church, Catholics will shift from Easter to Ordinary Time. If you haven’t already shared The Fifty Days of Easter / Los cincuenta días de la Pascua activity sheet, take this opportunity to help the children establish the habit of prayer and service to others with daily practice. Remind them that it doesn’t matter what the calendar says—their prayers and good works are welcome no matter what the season!
