Mark 1:1–8

For young children: View this short video lesson about turning back to God.

For adults: In Sunday’s Gospel, John the Baptist urges people to prepare a smooth, straight road on which God can come to us. Isaiah’s words of comfort to the exiled Israelites assure them and us that we can count on God’s forgiveness. Jesus’ words call for us to turn our lives around and make sure that we have an open path for God to enter our hearts. Note: Tuesday is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a Holy Day of Obligation. Saturday is the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, another chance to celebrate Mary, our Mother.

See The Gospel at Home (English and Spanish) for suggested family activities and discussion starters related to this Sunday’s Gospel.

Thanks for having this reminder on Facebook. Due to the virus, so many children and parents are hibernating. This gives them access to their Church and God (little reminders).
